Helsinki-based Murmansk, a band that made a guest appearance in Lupatarkastaja last spring, have just released a new song from their forth-coming Teeth debut EP. They describe themselves as dark edged and guitar-driven indie rock. I must agree. If I would’ve watched Alternative Nation instead of Headbanger’s Ball in early 90s, this would bring back great memories, I believe.
The new song, “2nd Floor Thrash”, doesn’t convince me right away. On the other hand, it doesn’t annoy me either, so I’d guess it needs some sort of context to place into, before Murmansk’s music reveals itself in full. And for that purpose, there’s a jukebox on Murmansk’s site that streams all four tracks from the new EP.
