Downstairs
Downstairs - “Wet From Sucking Cones” mp3
Downstairs - “We’ve Got Cobras In Our Organs” mp3
Downstairs from Helsinki, Finland, sounds like as if they have some serious issues to deal with. Kind of issues that prevent you from standing still, giving you sudden energy bursts and temporary moments of everything’s fine and then dropping back down to earth - after the music stops.
Or then they’re just another band with basal hardcore sound spiced with influences from all sorts of rhythmic music - where the energy is only positive and constructive from start to finish. At The Drive-In, The Blood Brothers, Glassjaw and Refused are mentioned in their biography and they give good image of what to expect from their sound.
Their second MCD Coward Constrictor Cries For Chivalry is just recently released, and the tracks linked above are from this release.

Hah! That was one nerve-wrecking hockey game last night, for sure, but luckily the end result was right. I put my money on curling though. But wait - didn’t Finland beat USA in that game as well? Yes!

Although this is off-topic for your music blog, I just read this in our local paper here in Niagara Falls, Canada. (Canada will play Finland’s Markku Uusipaavalniemi for the gold at 5:30 p.m. Friday.) I shall sit myself down in front of the TV Friday and watch the proceedings. Any bets? By-the-way, rather than take up space here, please tell us where we can send you email. Thanks.
Oh yeah, one more thing, we’re gonna whip your little curling butts.

I think I’ll miss the end of the curling match, because I’m going to see Silentium/Fall of the Leafe show tomorrow night. I’ll also miss Finland-Russia hockey game, which is fine, since it’d propably give me only frustration.
About the curling thing, that game is/was relatively unknown in Finland and due to team Finland’s success in Turin, it’s really a hot topic in here at the moment.
