Raised Fist - “Sound of the Republic” video
At last, the video for Raised Fist’s new album’s title track, “Sound of the Republic” is online. As a video it’s nothing much, but as a presentative of the new album, together with the previously released “You Ignore Them All” track on myspace, it speaks volumes.
“This is the sound of the Raised Fist republic!” Fear not, if you think Raised Fist’s new material does not sounds as aggressive as Dedication or Ignoring the Guidelines did. The album is a killer, believe me, best album I’ve heard this year. There are fast songs - just wait until you hear “Hertz Island Escapades” - and there are heavier song, like this title cut. Even “Time Will Let You Go, All Alone, I Break” with a re-recorded version fits perfectly on the album. If compared to Dedication, the new album is much more emotional - musically and lyrically. And that doesn’t mean slower songs or anything, the feeling just is there.
Finnish readers should get the next issue of Inferno magazine on their hands. It have a two-page Raised Fist story, written by yours truly.
