Cannibal Corpse - “Make Them Suffer” mp3
Sure Cannibal Corpse are old news, but it still is clear that they get better with every new album. Just get over those early 90s gore lyrics and shock tactics - that are absolutely loveable on their own right - their recent Kill is worth its name. And “Make Them Suffer” is the best track on the album, hold no barriers Cannibal Corpse classic with Fischer’s strong screams and that groovy middle part with a riff that stuck in your head. Make them suffer - more and more!

Suffocate For Fuck Sake are Swedish, that I know. And that their chosen band name is misleading at best. Still, their four-song, 38-minute EP from 2004 is a total killer release. I just downloaded it, I make quick judgments here, but to give a comparison, since From Now On’s demo I haven’t heard anything that would sound even remotely this convincing at the first listen.
SFFS’s EP combines post-hardcore with ambient, post-rock atmospheres. Like they say, it’s Breach, Cult Of Luna, Mogwai and Sigur Ros all played at the same time. Inbetween songs there are Swedish medical (?) interviews of a character named Hans, which gives this release an extra twist of absurdity.
If there’s anyone reading this who know more about the band, email me. I need to know.

Rotten Sound - “Decay” mp3
Rotten Sound - “The Kill (a Napalm Death cover)” mp3
Finnish grindcore band Rotten Sound are giving finishing touches to their forth-coming Consume To Contaminate EP. CD version will be out on early June and the 12″ version (by Power-It-Up) by mid-August.
EP’s opening track “Decay” is already online, introducing band’s new drummer Sami (also Deathbound) for the first time. It grinds, nothing less. There’s also an epic Napalm Death cover online, apparently to be released on some ND tribute album, I guess.

Au Pair - “Tyttö tule lasteni äidiksi” mp3
Au Pair - Live at Bar 68, Jyväskylä, Finland, Dec. 10th 2005 zip
This post goes mostly to my Finnish readers, but if you’re a hardcore noise rock fan, keep reading.
Anyway, thanks to my friend Harri I found an Au Pairpost from Lyhyt Johdatus Eskapismiin blog, including Au Pair bootleg from Bar 68 show (Dec. 1oth 2005). Hitsi kun siistii. Mp3 files are zipped (~65 MB) and the zip archive keeps inside many new, unreleased songs from the band. One of them is “Tyttö tule lasteni äidiksi” (”Girl, come and be the mother of my children”, roughly translated), very aupairish bastard, which - in their own words - combines James Brown and Mikko Niskanen. There’s also a video of the song from the same Bar 68 show at Au Pair’s media section.
That bootleg post was written already in Februry. Gawddamn, why I wasn’t told earlier.

Motionless - “United States of Amnesia” mp3
Motionless are a guitar-bass guitar-keyboards-drums instrumental band from US, with occasional help from violinist Katie. Their four-song EP, almost 40 minutes in lenght, is available for download at their homesite.
The Windmill EP have this nice, homemade and down-to-earth feeling to it and should appeal to fans of guitar-orientated post-rock bands such as September Malevolence or Our Last Hope Lost Hope. At the end of the day, Motionless doesn’t move me (hah!) that much, but still, what it’s worth, you propably should give them a chance by listening to their music they so kindly offer free of charge.
PS: If you have left a comment within last 48 hours and it have not passed moderation, it’s due to fact that I’ve been under some sort of spam attack. I’ve had more than 1 000 spam comments during last two days. I’ve edited all those in mass edit mode, without checking if there would be any proper comments among them.

Dead Revolution - “Satanik Motorbiker” mp3
Do you want a proverbial fist up you ass, to put it nicely? Take a number!
To continue the tradition of “that can’t be bad”, a song titled “Satanik Motorbiker” arrived and oh boy, it wasn’t bad at all. Just a little bit more aggression to vocals and it would be great. Still, I’m limping.
Dead Revolution’s brand new promo release is available at their site.

Tally Ho - Takes Two To Do It zip
I don’t have a category for experimental music. I should have. Tally Ho’s Takes Two To Do It EP is what I’d call a nice idea. Five tracks in 27 seconds sounds like an Agoraphobic Nosebleed release, but this takes totally new perspective in approaching short tracks - tracks that are not really songs, but more like single notes. 80H - whose release it is - tells us how to handle with it: “This release is intended to be played with both shuffle and repeat on. A crossfading plugin is recommended to avoid gaps during playback”. I did that and it works - at least in the background. Try it.
Musti Laiton - Nous Voulons voir Euro Disney album zip
Musti Laiton has always been my favourite Finnish translation of English stagename. Musti Laiton = Blackie Lawless. Musti Laiton, however, is also Finnish group of musical experimentalists. Their new album Nous Voulons voir Euro Disney can be downloaded from their homesite as well as from New Music Community’s site. Musti Laiton’s whole back catalogue is available for download at their website.
Portrait Of John - Swinging Heartbeat Entity album download site
If this is too much experimental noises already, you take a U-turn and check out Finnish Portrait Of John’s latest album Swinging Heartbeat Entity that is also available for download at their site. Very sunny, very just-fallen-in-love, very homey. Very pop music - and if you have ever studied in Jyväskylä during the spring time, it’s also very Jyrock. Portrait Of John’s music is released by Tampere-based Tunebug Records. Their previous releases are available for free download at their website.

Necrophobic - “I Strike With Wrath” mp3
Necrophobic - “The Crossing” mp3
Swedish Necrophobic offers two new songs from Hrimthursum, the follow-up to 2002’s Bloodhymns. Death metal with black edges.
Now read the title of the new album five times, really fast.

Anathema - “Everything” mp3
That’s a new song from Anathema, from their recent studio session where they recorded two other songs as well. Weird thing about Anathema’s current situation is that they don’t have a record deal. Perhaps they have offers coming every day, but nothing they’d like to sign - but still, it’s weird. You should also read the band’s statement at their site’s news section.
Anathema toured in Finland last November and it was very energetic show that I saw; together with the new track to spread their name again, we should see a new album by the band before it’s 2007, I believe.

Shogun Kunitoki - “Montezuma” mp3
Shogun Kunitoki - “Tropiikin kuuma huuma” mp3
I wonder do we get four seasons at all this year. It’s April 18th and snowflakes half the size of a matchbox are falling peacefully down to ground - to ground which should be starting to get greener to mark the beginning of spring. Oh well.
But Shogun Kunitoki’s music makes a nice soundtrack to my window ballet of watching the snow fall. Helsinki-based instrumental quartet released their debut album Tasankokaiku on Fonal a few months back (first pressing is sold out at the moment, if you wondered why it isn’t available at the Fonal mail order). I haven’t had a chance to hear the album yet, but judging by the two mp3s on Fonal’s site, they sound really interesting - at least for a Finnish band. This might be categorized as post-rock, harshly, but then it would be way more closer to - say - Do Make Say Think than to Explosions In The Sky.
